Ying Zee is a StudioDirector. She transforms urban and nature spaces through sustainable landscape design. In her 16+ years of practice, she has managed and implemented complex projects including urban transformation master plans, river restoration, public realm design and guidelines, parkland design, resort, residential and site-specific landscape design and implementation in Southeast Asia, China, and the Middle East. Ying has been involved in River of Life, a significant urban transformation project in the heart of Kuala Lumpur for more than 8 years since the competition phase in 2011.
She has developed a deep passion in exploring sustainable and resilience design solutions in different stages of projects. She adds value to the team with her ability to integrate blue and green infrastructure and sustainable design strategies via LEED principles.

A 7-ha project where the team start from the very initial masterplaning stage to detail landscape design for all the public realm which included: the waterfront promenade, roof gardens, full-sports retails facilities, plaza for the MRT station, key entry points along Kallang Basin. The whole development consists of a stadium, MPIA (multipurpose Indoor Arena), Aquatic Centre, offices facilities building and retail spaces. Landscape team has full involvement from the master planning stage to conceptual landscape design until the pricing set package for the consortium to evaluate the budget for the project.
Influenced by the desire to learn and to see the Modern Penang, The Landscape of Marriott Penang is created for guests and visitors to feel, see, near glimpses of Penang within a contemporary architecture setting. The landscape area consist of level 1 hotel arrival, level 3 & 4 hotel swimming pool and lounging deck, level 11&12 Marriot Residence amenities.
The River of Life (RoL) Master Plan aims to rejuvenate and revitalize the 10.7 km Klang River and the surrounding neighbourhoods of Kuala Lumpur to bring its people back to the riverfront.
Precinct 7 is the first phase of RoL development, located at the historical and social heart of Kuala Lumpur. The goals, objectives, and initiatives proposed in the RoL Master Plan have been carried through for this phase1 of RoL Heritage Quarter. The entire project development falls under the C.A.R.E.framework; Connect, Activate, Regenerate and Enliven.
